We are in CT. We will be by 8:30.

[Posted with hblogger 2.0 http://www.normsoft.com/hblogger/]

On garden state parkway. Middle of new jersey. Still no eta. Will start phone tree at 1st rest area in CT.

[Posted with hblogger 2.0 http://www.normsoft.com/hblogger/]

Middle of maryland. Still no ETA, lots of traffic.

[Posted with hblogger 2.0 http://www.normsoft.com/hblogger/]

WE HAVE LEFT FORT AP HILL!
Its still early to give an ETA on home time. Ww need to make several stops for water, food, and for bus driver. My best guess would be between 6-9. HOWEVER THIS IS ONLY A GUESS. WE MAY HIT LOTS OF TRAFFIC.
The jambo was a big success, our troop earned about 6 merit badges, all the boys earned the 5 rockers, and all boys are able to move, and all the body parts are intack. Oh by the way the bus is smelly!

Hello,
Some of you may be asking what time we will be arriving at CCRI. The truck will be coming in tommorrow afternoon. You maybe ask self, why does this matter. That means as soon as the buses arrive on wed. we can leave. However buses can come in at 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Therefore we can be from from 1:00 PM to maybe 1:00 AM thur. My best guess we should 6 - 9 PM. We will be stopping for 2 meals om the way home. I will post something here ASAP when we get on buses. With an ETA. Then I will update it every few hours and will start a phone tree in NY.

what a day!
What boy scouts is truly about. We woke up and went to raise flags. Bag pipes playes, scouts stopped in the street and saluted as 56 flags got raised, as if we were a perfessional flag team. Many big people were there including, and head of BSA and the head of the jambo.
Then we split in religous groups and headed to our services. I attend the roman catholic mass. 10,000 people in a field singing and praying and one group. People from everywhere knowing the same hand motions as I do for "Awsome God". It was a moving service. Some other scouts attended protestant mass and some even tried buddhist service.

After services we were on free time. I went the explorer post, an air conditioned resturant. I took my dad and it was a good meal. I got back to camp to find out closing show details have changed.

We got there, after a few delays. It was much better prepared for. Cases of water littered the field, air condition buses to cool people down.
The show was so so in my opinion. The president came in and talk about something. I slept though a lot of it, the candle cermony and fireworks were amazing.
I am on a bus back to camp. Its late, and I am tired. Sorry for any typos or grammer problems.

.To anwser some of mark's questions. Idk anything about the jambos websites pics. No one really knows. However we have taken lots of pics. I shoot about 1000 images so far, plus the other adults. We are going to place some on our site when we get home. Plus at our reunion we will give each scout a CD. Don't ask about the reunion becouse I have no idea when it will be.
THANK
JOE

Hello outsideworld.
I am in camp today so I would figured I could give you some updates.
Everyone is fine, a bunch of heat stroke and other heat related inquires have accorded earlier this week. Camp is 100 percent up and kida are getting use to the program. The gate way is up and looks really nice.
Opening show got cancled, after a 3mile death march there. .The hike was long and and hard, we had to make it through the metal detectors fast. I can not really comment much on what happened after we went through the metal detectors becouse I went right to the medical tent. I could bearly move, may face was num. Me and jack had heat stroke. We were one of the 1st people their and, they were no prepared. No water, no doctors, and banages, cot and a fans were all they had. They eventually got water and ice, and doctors, they moved us off the cots into shade, then into air conditioned vans. Eventullay forcing us back to sub camp 8 & and home. Hosing us down and making us drink water all day. A few other scouts got treated mostly for heat related things, and one got helivaced out. Everyone is fine and back in camp. So while we were being treated, they decided the thunderstorm coming was serve and cancled the show, scouts were not happy. They started walking back took a boy scout short cut and end up in a circle. Mean while a sevre thunderstorm rolled in, me and jack zipped up flapps and tries cleaning up. While securing the dinning flies, a big gust of wind, blew in picking up all 4 dinning flies and throwing them across the camp, near killing me and jack, other troops jumped in and helped dismantle the tarps. Later after the storm the troop returned.

Other news. Patch trading is hudge. Kis are loving it, geting halo, star wars, and hooter patches. Patch trading is the thing to do.

2 inflatable pools keep kids cool.

Water is be drunk everywhere. Soda is rare and far between.

All scout were told to call home. If you have not heard from them, let me know vial email.

Thanks for all the mail from all the parents.

Camp is a lot cooler, we can breathe.

There was a very moving memorial service last night. It was open to the subcamp in honor of the 4 adult leaders that pasted away. We reflected on their life, and how they are with their God know. Followed by a bag pipe of amazing grace. Scouts have collected and donated thosands of patches for the troops from alaska. they lost time to trade patches. So 40000 boys donated countless patches.

Many activities inculed shotgun. action alley, and the venturing mine are being high talked about.

We saw a 12 cubed. It was funky, and wicked awsome. Learning to be true to your self and others has never been so much fun.

I am in camp tp day, Expect more updates.
